I just realized that most of your photos don't include people. A lot of them are of spaces that suggest human inhabitants who left before you arrived (this photo brought upon the realization, but some other nice examples are the laundromat, post office, library, et al.). I like that theme in your work.
Cara, thanks for your thoughtful comment. I think you’re absolutely right in your assessment about many of my photos not including people. And this realization comes as the Alec Soth–decreed Portrait Week is wrapping up. Some of my favorite photographs are portraits, and some of my favorite photographers are portrait photographers, but I find, in my own work, that I enjoy the process (and the results) more when I’m the only one around.
